We Help Our Community By Helping Our Veterans

As we stand united and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our great country, RAM Pavement would like to express our unwavering support and appreciation for our veterans.

At RAM Pavement the four pillars of our organization are: Integrity, Respect, Communication, and Leadership. We believe that no one fits the bill of these qualities better than a U.S. veteran. Over the years we have worked closely with many veterans and our relationship and appreciation for all that they do runs deeply.

Helping our community by helping our veterans

We are very dedicated to giving back to the community and one of the things we can do to help our community is to help our veterans. Often times, when service men and women fulfill their time in the military, they are faced with returning home and having to integrate themselves into the regular workforce. This is not always easy to do.

RAM Pavement is an organization that understands how difficult this may be and we do our best to make the transition as easy as possible for our veterans by offering a soft landing.  We make interviewing for a job at our establishment as comfortable as possible. We are willing to listen to the skills you have to offer and we determine how best we can accommodate you at our organization. In fact, we are always looking to hire folks from the military!

Meet Doug Simmons – our Milling Superintendent and former sergeant in the military.

Doug has been a part of our team for seven years and he is currently our Milling Superintendent. He attended West Caldwell High School in Lenoir, NC and he joined the military after graduation. He served in the military from 2005 to 2009. He was stationed in Texas at the beginning of his military career but was then deployed to Iraq in 2006. His time in the military helped to develop his leadership skills and his appreciation for structure. He learned the value of decisiveness, tenacity, problem solving and the ability to adapt and overcome any situation.

Doug has contributed a lot to our company over the years. His daily duties include overseeing our milling department. He has helped to train a lot of people, especially in seal coating and milling and pavement.

“My goal is to contribute to the growth and expansion of RAM Pavement”  – Doug Simmons

Doug appreciates working at RAM Pavement because “ it feels like you’re working with family” and he feels at home despite all the hard work that is required to maintain and improve the company’s excellent standards.

On a personal level, Doug can be described as energetic, motivated and honest. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Telea and his son, Liam.

“I’d like to remind veterans that there’s always someone there to listen to them. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.” – Doug Simmons

RAM Pavement truly cares about its employees. While our company has seen tremendous growth in the past ten years, our turnover rate has remained much lower than the industry standard. We are proud of that and believe it’s a testament to how we treat our personnel as human beings, not manageable assets. YOU will be the backbone of our business and we would love to have you on our team! If you’re a veteran that is looking for a new career with a company that values everything you have to offer, give us a call at (704) 622-1300.
