Giving Thanks For A Great Year!
It has been a great year at RAM Pavement! We’re proud of our employees, the quality of their work and our stellar safety record. We’ve invested in some high-capacity equipment to boost production and we’re hiring new crews to handle increased volume in 2022.
At RAM Pavement, the safety of our workers, subcontractors, clients and their patrons is important to us on every job. Working with heavy machinery, our safety protocols are very strict. They are integrated into every one of our production procedures, thanks to our Safety Director, Andrew Strong. For the second consecutive year, RAM has won the Golden Award from the Occupational Safety and Hazard Association (OSHA) for no incidents on the job. We can boast zero-loss runs for auto and workers compensation insurance for the past two years! That’s a record to be proud of.
Why is this safety important? We care about our employees and everyone on our job sites.
Safety is good for business, too. According to the Occupational Safety & Health Administration agency (OSHA), occupational injury, and illness cost businesses $170 billion every year. At RAM, we believe in hiring great people and training them thoroughly. We want to ensure that they can function safely and effectively. In return, they receive valuable training opportunities and incentives for career advancement. This year we promoted three of our employees to Senior Superintendents and six became Lead men and women in the field.
Investments in New Equipment
In 2021, we elevated our paving capacity. We went BIG! In 2021, we completed 30% more paving projects than we did in 2020. We made investments in new equipment to increase efficiency and productivity on large-scale projects. New, high-capacity machines were purchased to get the biggest jobs done:
- Paving: In June 2021, we bought a commercial grade Weiler P395 Highway Class Paver to double output.
- Milling: In December, we purchased a PM622 Cold Planer or Half Lane Milling Machine for effective performance and precise milling.
- Markings: We are happy to report that we tripled the number of our thermoplastic markings projects this year!
With these investments made in new equipment, we know that we can meet any customer’s paving needs.
We look forward eagerly to 2022, with brighter plans for the future. We intend to grow our revenue 25% over 2021. With RAM Pavement handling bigger jobs, we are adding a new paving crew to our existing team to handle increased volume. On the technology side, we are upgrading our software to improve the way our superintendents report their inventory. With these upgrades, we anticipate a successful New Year.
It has been a privilege to meet your paving needs in 2021. From our team at RAM Pavement to your family, we want to wish you a Happy New Year! Here’s to a healthy and prosperous 2022!
