Celebrated every year in September, Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of the greatest workers in the world…the American worker. As we celebrate and pay tribute to the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country, this is the time our team gets to take a break from the heat. Our team at RAM Pavement would like to take the time out to join in celebrating Labor Day. 

For the workers at RAM Pavement, Labor Day means a much-deserved quick break from the heat. The paving industry is one of the busiest and hottest during the period of April to September. Projects are being worked on around the clock and while we get a small break during the Fourth of July holiday, it’s back to the grind until Labor Day. Our team works hard all year long and, on Labor Day, we get to be with our families and take a look back at what we have accomplished in the last few months.

At RAM Pavement, we recognize the great importance of our team and the overall labor force. Being an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) company, it has always been our goal at RAM Pavement to share with every employee, regardless of roles and responsibilities, the strategic direction of our company. Apart from understanding our core values, every employee is kept in the loop when it comes to our customer needs, marketing strategies, how to handle pending issues, etc. Whether their roles are in the field or the office, each employee plays an integral role within the company. That’s why we  share our corporate vision, which we all collectively work toward.

Without the labor force, none of what we do would be possible. As an EOS company, not only do we intend to share our vision with everyone, but this approach helps us figure out what works best for each employee. Are they functioning well in their capacity or role? If not, how can we, as a team, build on this and make it better?

Lamont Gales, our superintendent, has been a part of our RAM Pavement labor force for eight and a half years and is in charge of the Seal Coat department. For eight and a half years, Lamont has been part of our growing vision, contributing and learning all that time. He considers RAM Pavement a great place to work for.

The pavement industry is one of the toughest to work in and we feel it is our duty to make, in whatever little ways we can, working and being a part of the labor force easier. Every Friday, we like to have what we call an ice cream social. We stock the fridge with ice cream, available to our employees working on the hot days out in the field. In addition, we send food trucks out to the worksite so our employees have healthy lunches, even on their busiest days. Our jobs get hectic, especially around this time of year, and we want to make the work days are more engaging and less stressful for our employees. None of what we do would be possible without the combined efforts of our entire team. To express our appreciation of how grateful we are for all that our employees do, we purchase school supplies each year for their kids who are returning to school, from kindergarten all the way through high school. This year, 72 children are receiving school supplies.

At RAM Pavement, our strong work ethic and close-knit culture are integral to our progress. Our team here is strong because we all put our best foot forward and work together towards a growing vision. Collectively, we are here to provide value to the client as well as service the community in the best possible way we can. Being a part of the labor force at RAM Pavement, we know how committed and industrious everyone is. It is our goal to keep our employees safe and help them stay focused on the vision ahead and we intend to help in whatever way we can. On behalf of our team here at RAM Pavement, Happy Labor Day!
