2023 - A Year Of Big Wins

As we reach the end of 2023, RAM Pavement looks back on a year full of success and growth. From introducing innovative services to providing creative solutions for our clients' needs, it’s been an exciting 12 months. Here are some of the highlights.

New Soil Stabilization Service

When a parking lot has poor subsurface soils, property managers and owners rely on reclamation vendors, who generally take two to three months to resolve it. Now, RAM Pavement will fill that need in a few days and get clients up and running sooner. With our new Reclamation Division, we are able to respond quickly and avoid the cost of exporting the old earth and importing the new ABC stone and geo grid. Instead, we just incorporate the cement, lime or ‘fly ash’ via our reclamation machine to absorb all of the moisture or to get densities in the soil and stone, followed by asphalt paving.  This minimizes the waiting time for our clients and ensures that quality work is done in a short time.

New Stone Work Service

Since 2004, we have been doing asphalt and concrete work for our clients, extending the lifespan of paved assets. Now, we can provide the stone work as well, controlling pricing and efficiency.

RAM Applied for Two Patents

  • The first patent covers our Preservation through Proactive Prevention (P3) maintenance program. We provide documentation for property managers and asset managers with a real-time snapshot of the asphalt and concrete structures on all of their properties. This capability allows them to make proactive, well-informed decisions to manage their assets on a one, five and ten-year basis.
  • Our second patent is for our innovative back-office software. It consolidates multiple applications (including payroll and inventory management) into one unified platform.

New CRM Technology

We’re developing a new, proprietary Customer Relationship Management system to provide our clients with a quality, personalized experience. We’re excited about the launch in Q2 2024.

Kudos to Our Administration Team

  • RAM was recognized as one of the Top HR Departments in Charlotte. We may not have taken home the trophy, but Controller, Dawn Oldenbuttel and her team did an incredible job getting us there as finalists.
  • Under their leadership, RAM Pavement achieved a safety audit score of 98 out of 100.
  • And that's not all - we maintained our workforce of 70 to 75 employees throughout the year, despite the current labor market.

Exceptional Teamwork

At RAM, we have a clear vision for what we aim to achieve in the next 10 years, 3 years, and 1 year, and the quarterly steps we need to reach those goals. Our dedicated employees have helped us consistently exceed our profit month after month. They have been rewarded with a substantial bonus pool. This recognition not only provides a financial benefit, but also instills a sense of pride in their exceptional accomplishments.

I am extremely proud of the leadership team in all three departments. They all came together beautifully. It was like watching an orchestra play out. We set really audacious goals and they've done a fantastic job of accomplishing them all. It's a tribute to them and to the people working for them. A key phrase we emphasize here is, “It's not how you get it done, but who can get it done.” - Rob Miller, President, RAM Pavement
